How an IPO works
Step 1
Company files DRHP
The company files a draft prospectus with SEBI describing its business, financials and risks.
Step 2
Price band & dates
After approval, the issue opens with a price band and a fixed subscription window.
Step 3
You apply
Bid via UPI mandate through your broker or bank, in lots, at or within the price band.
Step 4
Allotment
If oversubscribed, shares are allotted by lottery; unallotted funds are unblocked.
Step 5
Listing
Shares list on the exchange and trade like any other stock. Listing price can differ from issue price.
